Payments and QuickBooks
You keep recording money in QuickBooks. The app reads each payment and files it in a fund.
Most payments follow the top row. A payment with no fund yet waits for you as new money.
New money
New money is money from QuickBooks that is not in a fund yet. The app puts each group of payments in 1 of your funds. You check each group.
Where. The home page shows New money when there is money to check. For example: "New money · 3 to check · $4,210".
- Press New money.
- Open a fund. Check each group of payments in it.
- A group is in the wrong fund? Press Move. Choose the right fund.
- Press Confirm with the fund name. For example: Confirm Sabeel. The money moves now.
- Questions shows the groups the app is not sure about. Choose a fund for each one. Later keeps a question for another day.
Reminders. Finish later keeps what you confirmed. The rest waits on the home page.
Your funds
Your funds shows each fund and its money from QuickBooks. A change here moves the money at once.
Where. QuickBooks > Your funds.
Open a fund. Each row is 1 group of payments.
- Move. Puts the group in another fund, or in Not a fund.
- Tax deductible and Pledge. Tick or untick each one.
- Not here. Takes the group out of this fund. It comes back as new money.
- Change. Gives the fund new dates. Its payments move to the right years.
Reminders. Only the jamaat treasurer can change Your funds.
Link a QuickBooks customer to a member
Same as step 5 of Set up your jamaat. Each customer you link lets that member see their payments.
Where. QuickBooks > Who paid.
Reconnect QuickBooks
The connection to QuickBooks can stop. For example: a QuickBooks password changed. The home page then shows Reconnect QuickBooks.
- Press Reconnect QuickBooks.
- Sign in to QuickBooks. Choose the same company.
Bank payments
Members can pay from their bank account in the app. This page shows each payment and what happened to it.
Where. Bank payments.
- Payments. Money members sent.
- Payouts to the jamaat's bank. Money moved to your bank. This takes up to 3 working days.
- Refund the full amount. You can refund a whole payment. You cannot refund part of it.
Other income
Money that is not a pledge from a member. For example: rent, hall bookings, a donation box.
Where. Other income.
This money arrives in QuickBooks with no member on it. A fund page shows it as NO NAME. Choose where it came from in From:. For example: Rent.
The Other income page lists each place money comes from. Rename one there, or retire one you no longer use.
